I can't believe it's been more than ten years since this show. I can still remember wanting to turn around and deck the "where's Tammy" guy.

Subject: OK but..

Jack playes a fantastic show but the crowd around the mics make far too much noise (talking yelling, whistling, phones). The Tammy guy should be shot in the face several times. I know what I had done when I was there ;-) Crowd singing along suits me and is audible as well but that creates some sphere. Flake with Ben really ROCKS and nice to hear Jack do the High Tides cover by Bob Marley, Ras Tafari Peace!

Good show quality just cant get over the the crowd talking throughout the show....like the standford show better till the encore...

Subject: One of the best recordings around ...

This house of blues concert saw jack playing to a packed Los Angeles crowd at a tiny venue. This Schoeps recording is one of the best quality i've heard, and asside from the "Where's Tammy?" guy yelling in-between songs, the show is flawless. Also, this show was the first appearance Ben Harper made guesting on slide guitar for the closer of "Flake". Ben would later come out and play flake with the band at future shows (2/17/02, 4/26/02, 6/22/02, 10/11/02, and others) but this one was the first, and most memorable, in my opinion. Just the crowd reaction, ben's syle, all was on that night.
